April 8th is here! Join our livestream for trello help with the changes!

Starting April 8th, you won't be able to add new members to your free workspace if you're over the 10 collaborator limit. Based on this thread, there's still a lot of questions about what that means.

Join me and @Dreamsuite Mike as we're going live Monday, April 8th, and 9am EST/8am CST and talking about these changes.

We'll be:

  • walking through some of the common terminology (what's a collaborator!?)
  • things you need to know,
  • explain the types of scenarios many folks are finding themselves in and what to do.
  • show the new Atlassian tools for removing members and what happens when you remove a member who is an admin of a board
  • just generally nerding out ðŸ˜ƒ

We're happy to answer any questions as best we can, so come join us and clean up your workspaces together!

One of the most common issues I've come across is when companies are using Atlassian Access and Trello but wanting to keep letting users have free Trello accounts without claiming an Atlassian Access license. There is documentation to support this but it could be a little clearer, imho. Do you know if any of these changes will affect how that works today?

@Josh Costella that's actually a good question, I'm going to assume that there is probably no change to that since there will still be a free Trello plan, the only change would be the amount of collaborators/users/members they can have in there.

If watched your livestream but still got a question. We have got a free workspace. If the collaborators is 10, is the workspace than still working after 20th of may? Or must it be 9, because I saw from your examples that your workspace had mostly 9 collaborators.

Thanks in regard

I would like to echo Esmee's question.

I have removed a lot of collaborators to get it down to the new communicated limit of 10. However, I have received an email to say I have too many collaborators?

So is it 9 or 10? All the communication I have received has said 10. Very confused!

I have got an update!

This is the reaction from  ustomer Advocate | EMEA:

'With the new changes in order to use the Free plan, you need to have 10 or fewer users.

In your case, since you have 2 members and 8 guests you are eligible to use our Free plan '

I hope this comment helps you Katherine!

Great, thank you. I have 10 total on each workspace/board. I wonder why I got a notification to say I have too many!

@katharine @Esmee Nijboer it's definitely 10, but you could have 10 workspace members and some multiboard guests, which would put you over 10 collaborators. So I would just check that you're looking at the members page and seeing that number.

I think every workspace has a general banner announcing the limit, but this is what it looks like if you're actually over:

@Belinda this is a great place to ask your questions, here in the community! I'd encourage you to watch this video where @Dreamsuite Mike and i go through changes (like how to figure out the costs and impact on your team) : https://youtu.be/jJVfiaBKVZA

And if you still have questions after that, I'd encourage you to look through this thread - there's a bunch of questions and comments on there and likely folks who have asked the same questions. Mike and the Atlassian team and I have jumped in there and responded to a bunch so you should find your answers!
