with rate limiting on in jira dc greatgadgets does not work as an external gadget in confluence

Fred W May 9, 2024

we have set up rate limiting up in our jira datacenter instance, our greatgadgets cumulative flow diagram gadget works on a dashboard but no longer works as an external gadget in confluence dc. it gives us a rate limiting error code (429) on the confluence page. we have whitelisted other addons to work as external gadgets no problem, but cannot come up with an url for this one, anybody else done it? we have been supplied some by stonikbyte but they either do do not work or are too broad ie /**/rest/api/**

Hi @Fred W,

The best way to address this issue is to work with StonikByte Support.

Great Gadgets has support for rate limits and is able to handle the specific error code 429 thrown by Jira when a limit is reached. But if the limits are too low you might still get the error. In this case, you can proceed by whitelisting these URLs:

/**/plugins/servlet/stonikbyte/greatgadgets/**

/**/rest/api/**

/**/rest/agile/**

These instructions have been already provided to you over the support ticket. But if is still not working, please reply to our support so we can investigate further. We could eventually schedule a call to see what's going on.

Thank you,

Danut Manda
