The resolution has been corrently configured with the necessary post-function when an issue is set to done, etc. How long does it take for the resolution date to appear with a DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM format?

Example:
- Resolved: 2 days ago 12:30 PM

DESIRED:
- Resolved: 07/05/2024 12:30 PM

Hi @Paula Barroso Lorenzo

If you're in the new issue view in Jira Cloud, you can just left click that relative date in order for it to toggle into an absolute date.  This answer doesn't apply to Jira Server/Data Center.

With Jira Server/Data Center you should be able to hover over the date in order for the tooltip to display the absolute date. Their are other system configurations that can affect the display of these dates.  We have a KB that might help over in Display standard dates in Jira server.  That KB explains steps that a Jira Admin can take in order to disable these relative dates and in turn the system will only display absolute dates. But that answer doesn't apply to Jira Cloud.

Hi Paula,

Hope this steers you in the right direction:

From what I know and understand, in Jira, the resolution date should populate immediately with the full timestamp (DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM format) once the issue is moved to the status that triggers your configured post-function. Here's why and what to check if you're not seeing it correctly:

Understanding Jira's Resolution Date

Automatic: The resolution date field in Jira is automatically set to the exact timestamp when an issue transitions to a status marked as "Resolved".

Post-Functions: Post-functions are used to automate actions during transitions, and one common use is setting the resolution date when an issue is considered 'Done'.

Reasons Why the Desired Format Might Not Show:

Incorrect Field Configuration - Ensure that the "Resolution date" system field is configured to display both date and time. You can check this in your Jira administration settings.

Browser Caching - Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to see if the issue is related to cached display settings.

Customizations or Add-ons - If you have any customizations or add-ons that manipulate the resolution date field or its display, there might be a conflict causing the incorrect format.
