Happy Friday Command Palette Beta Group!

Over the last week, we rolled out our final Jira Labs feature for the command palette - Jira settings navigation. These navigational commands will take you to various settings pages where you configure, edit, and control your Jira site. You can browse settings pages in the command palette or simply search for a page in the search bar if you know what you’re looking for. You’ll only see these commands if you have permission to access the pages. We've added five groups of settings pages in this release:

  • System settings

  • Product settings

  • Projects settings

  • Issue settings

  • App settings

Everyone should now have access to this set of commands. Let us know what you think!

With this release we also now have clarity about when we plan to ship this out of Jira Labs. We plan to have this available to all our users by September 30th.

This rollout will mean that the command palette will no longer be opt-in and will instead become available to all our Jira users. The release will also have a more advance search capability and an updated look and feel.

Thank you for being a part of this Beta Group! We couldn't have done this without you!

Really glad to hear about the feature progress. Also, I love that the palette now displays Jira administration stuff as well! 🎉

However, with these groups and the UI that displays <group> > result it might take a while until you see the desired search result (e.g. custom fields page). It would be great if those groups were visualized in some other way or if the searched content is somehow bolded in the results - e.g. (from the example above) the second result would go Issue settings > Go to custom fields (as the searched term is "custom")
