📣 Confluence Automation + Public Links + Guest Access = ❤️

👋 Community! Avinoam from Confluence Automation here again and this time with a collaboration between three close friends from Confluence: Automation + Public Links + Guest Access! From today you're able to leverage automation in Confluence to manage your public links and guest access at scale, and, well... automagically! 🪄

So, what's new? Glad you asked!

Three new Public Links & Guest Access actions, three templates + one new Branch!

Actions:

  1. Manage page public link
  2. Block public links in space
  3. Assign guest user to space (can only be found at the global level)

Branch:

  1. Unassigned guest users branch

Templates:

  1. Disable public link of a page when a label is added
  2. Disable public links on all inactive pages when scheduled (recurring)
  3. Assign any unassigned guests to a space when scheduled (recurring) - (can only be found at the global level)

Hi @Avinoam

I'm on an Enterprise instance and I don't see the new templates, actions, branches yet. Do you have any idea why is that?

Hi, @Stefan Draber,

I'm Avrahm, and I'm part of the Confluence enterprise support team.

If you're having technical issues, please head to https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/ and select "technical support" to submit a request.

Once you submit the request, I'll be on the lookout for it. Thanks!

Hi @Avinoam and @Avrahm K _Atlassian Support_

thanks, within the support ticket we figured out that the new Unassigned Guest automation items (action, branch, template) are only accessible under Global Automation, not under the spaces automation settings.

Now, next question: for our use case* I would have to check if the branched unassigned guest user is in a certain group before the action is taken.

I don't find any way to do that, since all user conditions are referring to the initiator-user (which is not the unassigned guest obviously). Can you help me out somehow?

Hey @Stefan Draber

can you post your Solution if you find one?

I would also be interested in assigning Ggests to a apecific space if they are in a specific group. (with read-only rights).

Kind Regards

Pascal
