We have uploaded a series of PDF documents to our clnfluence site. mainly product brochures, specification sheets etc. from this we were hoping to use AI to summarise specific questions we may have on equipment such as weights, dimensions etc. These are embedded within the PDF documents (hundreds of them)
when we ask AI a question on a piece of equiment it comes back with our regular pages as 'sources' but NEVER comes back with a PDF as a 'source' we were hoping AI would scan both our pages and also attached PDF documents.
When using the Generative AI feature in Confluence Cloud, does the AI search attachments (e.g. PDF and MS Word files) when asked to generate content?
No, our Generative AI editor feature in Confluence Cloud does not currently leverage content in attachments to produce responses.
hi, thanks for getting back to me. we are trialling a independent gpt solution to scan our sharepoint and confluence attachments, but would prefer if the atlassian AI were scanning for us.
any idea when this will be released?

Hi @Paul Kennedy welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I moved your question to the Atlassian Intelligence Product Group, but left a read-only placeholder in the Confluence Product Group.
Hopefully, someone from this group can answer your question. I haven't seen any confirmation yet that AI also searches attachment content.
