How to export all your Jira data into CSV

ELFAPP Technologies May 7, 2024

As an administrator, you might have gotten requests from your team about exporting issues or a project into a CSV file but having to deal with the export limitation or probably needing the delimiter of the file in a different format other than a comma. Sometimes, you want to have these data exported at a certain time of the day but haven’t seen the tool to help you achieve these requirements. Look no further because the Backup Projects for Jira will help solve all these issues. You’re immersed in your Jira site with easy navigations and all data resides within your Jira site, giving you peace of mind where your data is stored.

Exporting files in CSV

  • This is a very straightforward process, to export a file, all you need to do is create a schedule matching the project you want to target.

  • Paste a JQL of your choice, add the date when you want the operation to start and an interval to trigger the automated schedule.

  • Confirm your choice or go back and change things

Sit back and watch your projects being backed up at your required intervals all in a single CSV file.

You can configure the app to notify you once the file is ready to be downloaded. Receive in-app notifications and email notifications triggered by Jira’s native notification system.

  • Change the delimiter of the CSV export by using any of the 5 different delimiter options provided

  • Increase the max rows in an export depending on the size of your Jira project issues.

  • Export based on all fields or current fields (exactly how they appear on your Jira issue search results)
