Confluence Unable to Start

Hi All Genius out there,

I am struggling with Confluence Installation, I have installed Confluence 5.2.5 on Linux box. after installation i got message saying Server startup in 8222 ms. I have restarted httpd service too. I cannot see any logs generating error. Still i am not able to get Confluence over browser for further installation process.

I have made keytool entry too. It's residing under home directory. same keyphrase has been updated on server.xml file.

Can someone please help me this.

What does the log file say?

Start with the Atlassian-confluence.log you will find in the "confluence home directory/logs" - that will tell you what confluence is actually doing.  If that is very short and maybe just says "started, stopped", then look for catalina.out in the "confluence installation/log" directory to see what Tomcat is doing.

Your "server startup" message implies that confluence is starting ok though, so I suspect you really need to read the atlassian-confluence.log

No, it says a LOT more than that. You need to read the logs to work out what it is doing.

Ok, so what do you get when you go to Confluence locally? Fire up a browser on the Linux server, or if you have no GUI browser, use curl or wget to fetch http://localhost:8090/confluence (adjust that to match whatever you set up, I'm guessing at context and port)

Right, that's good. It means Confluence is working. So, the question now is "what is not working". Sounds like your browser is not connection, so that question becomes "what part of your network route is broken". Your browser can't get to Confluence, so the next question is "can it reach the server at all? And what do you get at the root?" For example, you mention Apache, so I guess you are trying to use that as a front-end or proxy - do you get the Apache "I'm running" page when you hit the server with a browser? Or something else?
