Stash Project Link in Jira, what for?

We have a question about the possibility of making in JIRA a project Link to Stash.

Since we had to recreate the application link twice and then all project links also, we have not done it the last time and it still seems everything is working.

We wonder for what the project to the Stash Project link in Jira is good for? What does the project link?

Unfortunately, we have not really found anything in the documentation. Can anybody out there help us?

Im not 100% sure about this but this associates the JIRA project and the Stash project together. It is a faster mechanism in the background to associate JIRA commits (with it's issue key) with the commits in the Stash's Project's repo.
