After installing confluence on my local server I am not able to use confluence.
Every page says You are not permitted to perform this operation. Apparently
authentication works as it does not yield errors on login.
I selected MySQL as the database and Jira for authenication.
The Jira admin account has been renamed.
I had to add myself to confluence-users.

This helped me after tinkering with cwd_directory and cwd_app_dir_mapping tables did not seem to have any effect (following advice from https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+Passwords+To+Recover+Admin+User+Rights)

Hi Robin,
Just a sanity check, could you please confirm that the JIRA admin account is a member of confluence-administrators on JIRA side. If not, please create "confluence-administrators" group on your JIRA side and add the JIRA admin into the newly created group.
From there, Confluence will pick up the changes in the next synchronization which will run hourly. To avoid such issue in the future, we highly recommend you to create a confluence internal administrative user which could be done by reviewing this documentation.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Septa Cahyadiputra
