We need to export the dashboard results to an Excel sheet.
Say we need the Piechart from the dashboard to be copied to a Excel.
And similarly other gadget results too in Excel or Word document.
Please let me know how can this be achieved.
It is 2015 now, and you can finally export complete JIRA dashboards or any set of gadgets to PDF, either with the chart image or the data table or both. You can accomplish this with the JIRA PDF View Plugin.
Note: I don't think it is possible to export these to Excel, because you cannot easily transform the rasterized JIRA charts to Excel chart objects. You could only export the charts only as static images, but in that way Excel doesn't have advantage over Word or PDF...
Anywat, see the dashboard exporting tutorial

Honestly, it would be great if Atlassian added this as standard functionality.
It currently displays reports on screen but gives no means to actually download or share the data, so they're just eye candy at the moment.

Hi Harish,
Although you cannot export Dashboards, plugin tools exist that allow you to accomplish similar results. For example Intelligent Reports allows detailed reporting of JIRA data in Microsoft Word format. It includes the ability to use JQL and generate pie and line charts similarly to dashboard widgets, with the advantage of formatting your report template and charts in Word itself. It is just as easy to set up a report as a dashboard as everything is point and click - there is no programming or API involved. There is a free 30 day trial, so try it out.
