When I look at the rank of issues in the backlog for a single project I noticed that the Rank values have extreme differences (1, 4, 7, 22, 3400, 3406). Is there an easy way to use a project specific rank vs the global rank currently in use?

I understand the need for a global rank when the rapidboard contains issues spread over multiple projects so I hope to find an answer allowing me to choose which rank field to use.

We wouldn't recommend it but you can have as many Rank fields as you wish, just create another field of type Global Rank. To have a board use it change your filter to something like 'project = x order by <rank field name>'.

Please note that even if you do that the rank will still include all issues in the system so you will still see non consecutive numbers.

Thanks,
Shaun

That is exactly what I like to get rid off :) Thanks for thinking along though
