what is the best course of action when we have a project that is divided into 3-4 others?

Milton September 23, 2012

I have a project that is divided into an iOS, Android, Windows Phone, web front and web-service sub-projects with several assest (images, documents, charts, gantt, etc.) in common. What is the best course of action in this case?

We want to have each sub-project have their own agile boards, components and versions, but a single wiki and, at least for the common assets, a single repository. How do we do this (if possible).

The obvious path would be to create each one as an individual project but then we would have to have multiple copies in the various repos of the shared assets. And also, concluence would end up with diferent pages for each of them wich we are not sure would be good for every one in the project. Even though from the programming stand point the projects are separated, as a solution/product their are all one and the same. Same requirements, (almost the) same UI, same stories, etc.

Hi Milton,

You can configure which projects in each application are linked together by going to the main project overview page (Administration > General tab, then select the project) and changing the "JIRA Project", "Confluence Space", etc. sections. This way you can set up each separate JIRA project to all be linked with the same Confluence space and so on.

Is it possible to aggregate the information of all the projects using this method? Can I, for instance, find out who is assigned to multiple projects, perhaps on a dashboard?

That's as simple as creating your required filters (which can spread across projects) and getting the required gadgets added to the Dashaboard
