Java exception during artifact storing in Bamboo

Mark Wolff August 13, 2012

We are new users of Bamboo and have successfully built our product with our first project/task, whatever you call it. (And the crowd goes WILD!)

Now, I wish to grab the output of our wonderful build and do something with it. Unfortunately, we get a java exception and the artifact isn't stored.

Failed to execute plugin 'Artifact Copier' with error: java.io.IOException: Exception occurred when posting message com.atlassian.bamboo.v2.build.agent.messages.ArtifactPublishMessage@66ab75. Connection has been shutdown: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: socket write error

The machine running the build is a remote agent, Win XP OS, physical hardware (not a VM).

This may warrant a full report with detailed logs to Atlassian support. Quick guess is that based on the error message the remote agent is having difficulty communicating back to the Bamboo server. Are you using HTTPS for the Bamboo server and/or agent?

If you take a look at some of the connectivity troubleshooting here there is a link to a NetworkAnalyzer class you can run on the remote agent machine to diagnose issues connecting to bamboo. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMKB/Troubleshooting+Remote+Agents
