How can I track every page view?

Nariman Riahi August 10, 2012

I like to track page views for every page. I know of Customware view tracker macro. Problem with Macro is that you need to add that to the page to make it trackable. Is there anything esle that makes it easier?

I am running Confluence 3.5.3 but soon will be upgrading to latest version.

thanks

You can also try out Confluence Usage Tracking Plugin (bundled with later Confluence version) or Viewtracker Plugin. However, these macros were also required to be included in Confluence page but you do not have to include them in every page though. You can just include a macro in a page and specify the space required. You can also configure some other settings to suit your needs.

You can use our app to track page views https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215565/page-view?hosting=server&tab=overview

It also provides additional information about Confluence pages/blogposts: created, updated, ...

You can read our document about tracking features: https://elitesoftware.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PV/overview

Confluence Archiving Plugin also tracks page views per page, and it doesn't require adding any macro anywhere.

Please note that it primarily tracks the "last view" event (the date when the page was viewed and the viewer person) in order to avoid scalability and performance problems caused by the other analytics plugins in large Confluence sites.

Read the plugin documentation (particularly about the page view tracking feature).
