Logging to atlassian.jira.log

Matthew Firtion August 1, 2012

I'm working on a custom Seraph authenticator to work with our SSO provider. I'd like to log the SSO activity of when a user logs in or a JIRA user is created using the SSO authenticator. I'm not very familiar with log4j. Is it possible for a custom class to add that logging to atlassian-jira.log without modifying the log4j.properties of the application? I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated!

In JIRA5, you can temporarily add logging level for a new package under Administration > Logging & Profling.
