Unable to access Rapid Board after upgrade to JIRA 4.4.4

jOhn Simonson July 11, 2012

Hi -
I upgraded my Sandbox JIRA from 4.4 to 4.4.4, to take advantage of GreenHopper Rapid Boards.
I now have the following phenomon:

When I access JIRA on the Sandbox server, the Manage Rapid Board shows as expected (see attachment "GH-bug-accessed-locally.gif").

However, when I access the Sandbox server from another PC, using the same URL, an exception occurs (see attachment "GH-bug-accessed-remotely.gif"), where the JIRA page details an exception "'GH.Ajax' is null or not an object",
and the IE8 error box indicates this:

I need to get this running for our users as soon as possible, and would appreciate any help.

JIRA 4.4.4
GreenHopper 5.7.4

Thanks - John.

Hi John,

I think this is a browser specific issue.. IE is not a good browser to use with GreenHopper..

Are you using the same browser and setting on different computers? ..Are you having the same problem on a different browser than IE? Firefox? Chrome?

Please check https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH057/Supported+Platforms for more details of which browser are supported with GreenHopper 5.7.4

Hi Mirek -

yes, I am using the IE8 and the same settings on both, and your link specifies that IE8 is supported.
Firefox does seem to work, but not all our users have firefox.

However, I did disable "Compatability mode for intranet sites" (this is mentioned in the GH 5.10, not the GH 5.7 docs), and it is working now.

Sometimes it just takes a little push in the right direction, amiright?

Thanks - John

Hi John,

Right :)

I am very happy that is working for you and I hope that you will like new GreenHopper..

In my opinion it is going in good direction.

We had a similiar issue with JIRA Agile (Greenhoper) throwing an error simiiar to the following whenever we attempted to access any Agile board, we were able to resolve the issue by restarting the JIRA service (RDP'ed into the machine and ran the stop/start service files).

ERROR:

Exception: TypeError: GH.Rapid Board.Board Header is undefined Resource: /_/download/context batch/js/greenhopper-rapid-non-gadget,atl.general,jira.global,gh-rapid/batch.js
