It looks like now the only way to edit workflows in JIRA 5.0.1 is to use the designer. Is this correct? If so, is there any way to edit the "create" transition? I was able to edit this previously using the steps view, but now I'm told I can't edit this transition. I had workflow post functions on this transition that now i'm not able to edit/delete. Any suggestions?

There is a link you can find on the number of steps, under the Administration > Workflows. Clicking on that link will take you to the old editing view!

Awesome, thanks so much! Not sure why they removed the "steps" link, but hey, as long as I can still get there, I'm happy.

I really want to edit workflows outside of the designer and use the old steps views as I find the designer more difficult to utilize and see everything. In Firefox, in design mode, I also can see very little of the overall flow and there is no expander to see more.

I tried to follow the answer info to get to this view and don't seem to have this option in OnDemand. The only way I could get to it was to create a scheme and associate that scheme to the workflow. Navigate to the scheme and then click on the workflow name. But, when I start with a new workflow, this doesn't exist.

How do I get to the old editer after creating a new workflow, to add my steps?

Hi Everyone,

We moved the link to the 'text' mode of editing workflows to the steps link in 5.0.x - and we admit that it was a little to hard to find.

We have rectified this in JIRA 5.1.x by adding an edit mode where the user can select 'Diagram' (the workflow designer), or 'Text' (the traditional way of editing workflows).

Cheers

Josh

Hrm, that didn't work for me.

However,editing the URL with ViewWorkflowSteps.jspa?workflowName=WORKFLOW&workflowMode=live

seems to still work. (where you replace WORKFLOW with the name of your workflow)

In the Workflow Issues screen, you can click on the number in the Steps column to get to the old "steps" edit interface.
