Behaviours default textfield value and rich text editor (WYSIWYG)

slothstronaut November 21, 2016

Hello!

I was setting a default text for my description field like described in the documentation.

The field uses the wiki style renderer, and I have the RTE enabled, therefore I can choose between "Text" and "Visual" mode of the field (at the bottom of the text).

If the Create Issue page opens in "text" or "visual" mode depends on the mode you left the page last time creating an issue.

If the page openes in text mode and then is switched to visual, everything works fine.

If opened in visual mode, the description field has no visible content at first, but then switched to text mode, the description is there --> back to visible mode: nothing again.

Is there a way to use Behaviours default values for text fields with RTE, without having to switch back to text mode every time before creating an issue ?

The logs are empty on this one, and it works fine by adding javascript code to the description of the description field.

There are some known issues with behaviours and the rich text editor that sound pretty similar to what you're experiencing. We haven't always been able to consistently reproduce them, but they are in our backlog to work on. I'd encourage you to watch/vote on that issue. Feel free to comment with any details about your environment, and whether the issue occurs across different browsers, or in one browser in particular.
