Compatibility with Jira 7.1.9 and rule

Oliviu Nita September 26, 2016

Hello,

I have 2 questions:

  1. Is this plugin compatible with JIRA 7.1.9 Server ?
  2. With this plugin, can i create an automation: WHEN a issue change status IN PROGRESS, to notify/alert (by email, by adding as Request Participant) a specific user ?

In advance thank you

It already has compatibility with the newest JIRA 7.2.1.
Regarding your second question: if I understand your question correctly, you can set this even without Automation just by using of post-function.

Hi and thank you for fast answer

For JIRA compatibility that's awesome smile

Regarding post-function, i have searched into all options of the workflow (before to put the question here) and never find the option to AD user as Request Participant or send email to a specific user WHEN the status of the issue changed IN PROGRESS ...

I'm missing something ?

Thank's in advance and have a nice day

Hi!

Firstly you should create a new event. e.g. "In progress."

Then choose this event on the transition to IN PROGRESS.

And finally set a notification scheme on new event "In progress" to send an e-mail to a required user you need.

Hello,

It is simply not working OR i don't know how to do it... sad

I do not have the possibility to add the send notification to a user into workflow or after i have created a new event and a new schema.

If you have other ideea please share it with me smile

Thank you for your time and answers

Have a nice day

Hi Oliviu!

You can't send notification directly from the workflow. As I said before you have to edit a notification scheme of a project. So:

1) Firstly you create a new event IN PROGRESS

1 New Event.PNG

2) Then you edit event post-function on the transition of workflow:

2 Change Event on Transition.PNG

3) Finally you have to choose users in a notification sheme of a project who you want to get notifications:

3 Edit Notification sheme.PNG

4 Result notification.PNG

I cannot thank you enough smile

Still i have a question: what if the transition it's already there ?

My transition that i need to fire the event (send mail) is Waiting, can i "play" with that or i have to follow the steps that you have writed above ?

Big thank's

Oliviu, it seems I didn't understand you correctly! Smile :)
You need this transition will go automaticly? (to IN PROGRESS)

Oliviu Nita October 30, 2016

YES smile

Recap:

I'm a developer in a Agile project

I take a task and start to work on it, one day i need some extra info for the customer so i put the Task in WAITING.

After 3 days i go in holidays and the task is still in Waiting.

The customer call my boss and ask him what is the status of his task...

My boss has to make some research to see where the task is.... and he not like it...

That's why he want this: be notified by email WHEN a task change his status in WAITING smile

Clear enough ?

If you need more infos please let me know

Yes I do. I need a little bit more:

Now you want to notify your boss about issues that are already in WAITING or you need to set notofication which will send a fire to your boss in the future?

Oliviu Nita October 31, 2016

In the future will be AWESOME smile the past became... history

TSD Group October 31, 2016

Ok, just do what I said and since you've done it a notification will be sent to your boss.

Regarding current issues in WAITING just inform about them manually.

Oliviu Nita October 31, 2016

Perfect, i will start to made the trick on our dev instance and i will let you know

Thank's again for you answers and patience smile

TSD Group October 31, 2016
