How to setup the hardware

Filip Traugott February 21, 2012

I'am trying to get a grip of the hardware setup.

Shall the instalation be on seperate servers?

What kind of prestanda should the servers have?

We will have Jira, Greenhopper and Confluence (additional Crowd) installed.

There will be 400 users (most of the will not use the application alot) about 100 projects and a total of 5000 new issues per year.

Thanks

Theoretically, it is okay to install everything on the same server but it is probably better to install them separately. If one server gies down, it won't take down all your applications!

JIRA & Greenhopper goes together. I also wouln't mind Crowd going into one of the boxes if you are limited on the number of boxes.

So 2 or 3(best case) servers.

From my reading of this page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Installing+Confluence+and+JIRA+Together), it's not even theoretically OK to install multiple Atlassian apps such as Jira and Confluence on the same server (physical server maybe, but web app server, no).
