I just read in the release notes for Confluence 5.6 that comments are now posted in the background with Ajax and there won't be any page reloads when comments are sent. I think this feature was overdue - thanks for the implementation!

In my opinion, the next step would be to push comments directly to other users such that those don't have to reload the page to see new comments. With the increasing presence of WebSocket, the technical base would be given for this feature.

My question: can we expect this feature in the medium term? Or am I totally on the wrong track with this idea?

Hello Felix, thank you for the feedback, we are happy about that feature as well. :)

As for the second topic, comments being automatically loaded into the current page has not been mentioned yet in our issue tracker, the entire list of requests for comment can be reviewed here. That looks like a valid suggestion, feel free to add it to http://jira.atlassian.com.

Hi Guilherme, thanks for this post! I'll create a suggestion. Do you know if the improvement that Jamie suggested (loading comments asynchronously after page load) is there somewhere already? Otherwise I'll create a second suggestion for this idea too.

Hi Felix, I believe that's something to be filed up as well. :)

Jamie, if you're OK with it I'll create an issue for this feature as well?

Yeah, massive +1 from me too. Posting a comment when there were already hundreds of comments was a tedious business.

If not done, the next thing I'd love to see is comments loaded asynchronously after the actual page content. Too often you wait ages for a page to load because it has a lot of comments, when the info you want is in the wiki page content itself.
