I am having issues when clicking through to pages or tasks from the notifciations bar in Confluence. All of the other pages are going through my sub-domain and work fine but when I click to a page or task etc through a notifcation it redirects through my actual IP in the address bar.
This causes issues where I get a blank page in Chrome and an error message in Firefox not allowing me to view the page and ruining the intranet experience.
My base URL is configured with my Sub domain URL and all of the pages and spaces work fine when I click through from anywhere else.
Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Elliot

Was solved by telling our guys at the server end to 'refresh' the server and configure the base URL.
The emails, notifications, macros and internal linking all use the base-url - you should always be accessing the system via the base url. Don't use sub-domains, renames or redirects for the main access to your Confluence, decide on one single url and stick to it.

We do access Confluence through 1 URL the sub-domain which is stuctured: sub.domain.org.uk The issues arrive when we click any notifications in the browser from the notifications box in the top right corner.
Would this be changed by making the base URL domain.org.uk instead of sub.domain.org.uk ?

It doesn't matter as long as it is consistent. If you access Confluence through sub.domain.org.uk/ then set your base url to that. If it's sub.domain.org.uk/confluence, then use that. Or if you want everyone to use domain.org.uk/, use that as the base url.
