How to redirect Jira cloud URL to Jira (hosted) server?

Mihamina Rakotomandimby December 1, 2015

My JIRA cloud instance is currently "https://xxxx.atlassian.net". I would like to switch to JIRA server (hosted on a dedicated server), but my users have several email notifications in their inbox with the "atlassian.net" URL: Is there a way to ask Atlassian to redirect, at least for a determined time?

Thank you.

The problem is when it is about individual issues, with their key. At least a dynamic banner will be a good thing: on http://foo.atlassian.net/../KEY-N you get a banner inviting to check the new instance at http://mydomain/../KEY-N

You remind the context? It's users having stored notifications in their mail.

And also: I may not stop my Jira cloud instance if I want that banner to display. I need the cloud and the server to run together for a long time...

DNS redirection is not a functionality we provide at the moment I'm afraid. It is listed under the Restricted functions in Atlassian Cloud apps: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Restricted+functions+in+Atlassian+Cloud+apps. But we also have a Suggestion to make this possible in the future at: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-5790

You could place a big banner across the instance as suggested here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/246579
