Remote repo size is not reduced after clean up

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Reduce repository size

Hi,

I've cleaned repo with "git filter-branch", performed all 4 steps in section "Garbage collecting dead data" (in article https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/reduce-repository-size-321848262.html) and now local .git directory right after fresh cloning is 168 MB but BitBucket reports that remote repo size is still 1.1 GB and displays the warning about that.

Please tell how to expire/gc remote repo size?

Thank you!

Bitbucket server will clean up the space on its own eventually.  If it's urgent for you to clean it up immediately for some reason, you can contact Atlassian support and they can force a garbage collection.

I had pushed some large file and it gave me warning about repo size. I deleted them from the branches but still the size has not got decreased. How can i force the size to get decreased?

Thank you Tim, it's clear now. The only issue is the warning in web UI is a little annoying. But just a little, so we will wait for some time for auto gc.
