How to hide a gadget if user doesn't have permission

Hi,

 

I am developing a gadget to be used by some set of users ,users will be decided at run time.I don't want other users to view the gadget.

 

Please let me know how to achieve that.

I guess that JavaScript is the only way. You should have your "show/do not show" state in gadget's JavaScript and then hide the whole frame if needed. But it looks like some hack for me.
