Is there a way to install Atlassian Connect plugins in self-hosted JIRA? Would submitting them to marketplace change anything?

Do you have any dates on when this could be supported? I found some answers from 2014 saying "not yet", so I'm wondering if anything has changed since (or at least if there is a more concrete plan).

If Atlassian Connect is still not available, what are my options? Only OSGi plugins and full-blown apps with OAuth and AppLink?

Unfortunately we are not planning on supporting Atlassian Connect for Server.
