Akash Randhar August 6, 2014

Can I create a hierarchy where the effort rolls up the hierarchy and i can view this hierarchy?

An outline like this would be an extremely important representation of JIRA data.  The information is there but a hierarchical view would show the full transitive set of relationships in a way that would allow detection and resolution of overlapping subtasks.  If you can see multiple subtasks in multiple epics and stories at the same time, you may see that a task assigned to a story in one epic really should be rephrased, refactored and moved to other epics. An outline view would make this very easy, but without it we basically have to build it ourselves on paper.

Task-to-task dependencies are another piece of information that could be put into hierarchical views.

Sabine,

Not sure this helps. What I am looking for is:

- Ability to view the hierarchy of epic->story->subtasks in the agile planning board

- Roll the effort up the hierarchy to see total effort and remaining effort (not in terms of story points but in terms of real time)

Thanks,

Akash

I'm looking for this too.  The closest answer I've found seems to be some type of configuration using multiple boards and swimlanes.
