Team Calendar - Display Estimated Time in Calendar as a block

Goran Rasic January 30, 2012

I have seen in the release notes of upcoming v.1.9 that there will be the possibility to setup a JIRA Calendar using a JIRA Filter. This will allow me to display only open team issues regardless of projects and I am hoping that the Team Calendar colour coding can be based on project and/or assignee;

the one thing which would be very useful is to display the (estimated) duration of a task in the Team Calendar as a block. It should calculate based on the due date and estimated time of delivery.

Using a JIRA Filter as a start and displaying the duration of a task by assignee will show immediatelly the resource assignment. This would be very powerful for managing team efficiently ..

to summarize ..I guess the three critical pieces are ..

-allow creating JIRA Calendar based on Filters

-display the assignee and or project in the overview

-display the task as a block, calculated based on due date and backwards based on estimated time of development

Hi Goran,

Thanks for the suggestions. We are working on TC Jira filter support right now. Your suggestions go a bit beyond what we had in mind for the first version, but we do like them! We already have a couple of open tickets asking for the ability to show a date range in TC, you might want to add your thoughts to them (and vote for them):

I have also raised a ticket for colour coding based on assignee/project:

Cheers,

Matt
