Exporting Project fails: User with name xxx.xxx@de.yyyyy.com not found

Mark de Bont October 12, 2015

When performing an export I get a lot of lines with the following output:

For simplification I only pasted 1 line, but the format is the same for other projects

  • [Project xxx] [Members for role Users] Trying to export Project found error: User with name xxx.xxx@de.yyyyy.com not found

However, the user does exist in JIRA

How can I correct these errors?

Running JIRA 6.4.4. with version 1.6 of Project configurator

A possible explanation could be that those users have been renamed, so that their current name is 'xxx.xxx@de.yyyyy.com' but their user key is different. In the case, you could fix it upgrading the plugin to the latest version (support for renamed users was added in version 1.7).

Another solution would be to select the option to ignore invalid users in export. See more details about it here. However, I think it is worth the effort to verify if those users have been renamed and upgrade the pugin if they have. That would be the best solution in that scenario.
