Hello,
I'm trying to develop a add-on for Confluence Cloud which implements a custom authentication logic. I know this is possible for Confluence onPremise (using filters and custom authenticator) however I can't find any info on this for Atlassian Connect.
From what I read in the Atlassian Connect introduction it's not possible to authenticate an user from an add-on.
After searching I found this which doesn't specify if user authentication can be modified :
https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/restricted-functions-in-confluence-cloud-734070955.html
So is custom authentication possible ? Is there an issue open for this feature ? Did I miss some documentation ?

I'm afraid this is currently not possible.
And we don't yet have a feature request for this. Please feel free to create one in the Atlassian Connect JIRA project.

I want to make a custom authenticator for the Confluence. The goal is to provide SSO by delegating the authentication process to our 3rd party IdP. So I need to be able to filter and redirect user to our platform, authenticate them and then redirect to Confluence with a proof of authentication which will be checked by the add-on.

Can you provide more details about what you are trying to do? Do you want to provide a custom authentication method for all of Confluence? Or do you simply want to add additional authentication for the pages provided by your add-on?
