Why are some of my transitions not showing

Evan Golden October 2, 2015

So I  have about 15 transitions on a workflow.  They are all "AND" conditioned with two conditions each.  11 of them transition fine, but the last 4 do not.  The last 4 all have one of the conditions the same (it is a string), and the other is different for each.  No matter what I do I cannot get them to appear.  I am pretty familiar with conditional workflows.  These are not grouped conditions, just two simple AND conditions feeding off of custom fields with select lists.

My conditions are very simple.

One is a select list custom field with 3 options using a value string with = to one of the values.  I verified that the values match.

The other is the same with four options.

I am forcing the transition only if both conditions are met.

Any ideas????? It works for 11 of my 15 transitions, but not the last 4.  The last four all have the same value for one of the conditioned custom fields, and different values for the other.

Please help.

From a troubleshooting perspective, the straightforward approach would be to remove one of the conditions and see if the transition shows up.  If it does, you know that condition is the problematic one; if it does not, it's probably the other one, so add the first one back in and remove the second.  If it still doesn't show up, they are both failing, but my guess would be that, if these are the only 4 transitions conditioned on that same value for one of the fields, then it's that value that is somehow not matching.  Possibilities include an extra space on the end in the custom field text value, that you aren't including in your condition, or some sort of character set issue.  I think the extra space is more likely, I just checked and it's possible to create a custom field value with whitespace on the end.

You'll need to show us the conditions you have defined.
