How to access issues in JIRA instance A from instance B?

Jirong Hu October 1, 2015

Hi All

We have an Old JIRA instance and New JIRA instance running in parallel. Now the user comes up with the following requirements:

  1. "As as jira user be able to access/see stories, epics and sprint info in Old Jira on New Jira instance."
  2. As a jira user be able to use the New Jira instance for back log management.
  3. As a jira user be able to use the New Jira instance for Sprint execution.

What's the best way to achieve this?

Thanks

Jirong

That's ugly.  You'll need a load of code to import a view of the old JIRA.

I'd export the old issues, import them into the new JIRA and make the projects read-only on the old one.

Reporter said it was related to this post (https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/30947791/answers/30947804/comments/30947823) which I think, the same approach can be applied.

Yes, a merge is what I'm implying with the "export/import" answer.
