I'm trying to find a way to modify the standard search results page to display the path to the page with a result. We lose a lot of context for a page when the hierarchy its part of is not present.
I found this (very old) similar question which suggest writing a search result renderer as a solution but all the links are dead and I can't find any information about this in new docs. Has this solution gone away? How can we go about modifying the search results page in Confluence 5.x?
Thanks!

I guess it is not possible anymore. The Search Result Renderer was plugable, until Atlassian made a significant change to the search with version 5.2.3. You can find the removed tutorial here: https://web.archive.org/web/20130704110418/https://developer.atlassian.com/display/CONFDEV/Writing+a+Search+Result+Rendererbut it only works up to and including Confluence 5.1.5.
Yep, sadly the Search Result Renderer is no longer available as a plugin extension point. If you have a strong need for this, the best way forward is to raise a new issue on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFand ask for it to be re-implemented.

Thanks for the info. Is it possible to directly modify the template to include the breadcrumb information?
