I have the spanish language package and I want to change some word in the translation, for example: Instead of 'Issues' I want to establish 'Requirements'.
You would change the field names the same way that you would do it for a different language.
http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/1wESCw should give you enough info to get going.
Thanks for the answer! The problem is that I want to change in a more lower level, replace the word 'issue' in every part of jira to 'requirement'.
Like, in spanish 'Issue' --> 'Incidencia' and I want 'Issue' --> 'Requerimiento'
Jo-Anne already gave you the correct link - you need to grab the Spanish language pack and edit it as documented there.
I don't want to change the names of type of issue, I already knew how to do that. I want to change the word 'issue' in the Jira. In my work there are no issues, there are requirements.
Bother, sorry, we misunderstood. You need https://developer.atlassian.com/display/JIRADEV/Customizing%20Text
Just wanted to let you know that we have just released InProduct translation plugin for JIRA.
It allows to translate JIRA right from its page so you can see all messages and provided translations live in a second. Just install the plugin in JIRA, select "Translate Page" from the user profile menu in JIRA and start translations.
The plugin is available in marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.translations.jira.inproduct
You can install it from the UPM. It works with JIRA 5.1+.
BTW, great plugin!
Any time-frame when this is going to be out of beta?
There is no timeframe yet. Current beta version is stable and quite powerfull.
We still miss integration with translations.atlassian.com website but before we start working on that and other things we would love hear more customers feedback.
Feel free to left comments on the marketplace plugin page or https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRANS
