Searching "macroName; {macro_name}" using xml-rpc or the rest api

Hi,

Im trying to use Python to search through pages to find what macros are being used on each page. When connecting via xml-rps, trying to search for the "macroName" field eventually times out when trying to return more than 3 or 4 results in the search results. I can search successfully just using standard text and it works quite fast.

Im just wondering why trying to search for term "macroName" takes so long when normal text searches are extremely quick? has anyone used this feature to search for items such as this before?

Confluence version is 5.1.3 running on RHEL

It's a bug -- CONF-31152 -- and you cannot use REST instead since complex queries don't work there (also a bug, CONF-25680)
