Keystore-file with HTTPS with IP-address and port

Karsten Hilgers April 24, 2014

This question is in advance to https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/287422/confluence-not-opening-port-8443.

I access my Confluence instance via browser over IP and port. E.g. http://123.12.123.12:8090. Now I want to access my Confluence via HTTPS at https://123.12.123.12:8443.

My question is what do I have to set for CN in the keystore-file? Do I have to include the port like CN="123.12.123.12:8443" or not like CN="123.12.123.12".

Thanks BKS

Hi Boris, the certificate itself is not port aware. You should include just the hostname when asked to fill the CN information.

I'm more used to seeing the server name rather than IP address, but I've never put a port in there.
