Hi

I'm currently evaluating Zephyr and have hit a 'show-stopper' issue around vieiwing the assignee of a test in the Test Cycle Summary page and within the reporting gadgets.

I refer to the links above - Can you indicate whether this will ever be addressed? I can't find anything since these posts to suggest that this key requirement will be delivered.

We are creating test cycles and then assigning tests to individuals to run them. The ability to see which tester has outstanding executions (and therefore may potentially need help) is fundamental. At the moment I'm having to go into each test to see who it's assigned to. Likewise with the Zephyr Test Distribution Chart Gadget - this is only by the user that reported (or created) the test - this would be far more useful if it was by assignee. As things stand we will not be buying Zephyr, so if anyone can recommend a Jira test management plug ins that does allow you to assign the tests out I'd be grateful to hear from you.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

Currently Zephyr for JIRA does not have the ability to assign executions to a tester available with native functionality.

Our Product Management team has been made aware of this feature request. They will review the same for consideration. We appreciate your valuable feedback in making Zephyr for JIRA better.
On an additional note, our flag ship product, Zephyr Enterprise Edition, does allow you to assign executions to testers. Additionally it integrates tightly with JIRA so you can map defects to test cases, create defects from the Zephyr UI, map test cases to JIRA requirements and more. If this is a feature you are looking for right away, you might be interested in our Zephyr Enterprise Edition. If you are, below is a link to read more about it:

We also have the free little brother version of Zephyr Enterprise Edition, Zephyr Community Edition. This is also a great way to check out the Enterprise Edition. It does have a few less features than the Enterprise since it is free, however it still integrates the same. So you can see how the integration to JIRA works and see if it would work for your company. Below is some information on the Zephyr Community Edition:

Kind Regards,
Emily

Thanks for the clarification Emily. One way I can try and work around this is by using the executor - this is assigned once the test starts execution and the status goes to WIP.

I can then at least see who is actively working on a test, and run a filter in native Jira to see who is assigned the tests. We may be able to do something with a custom report to compare the two to see who has the outstanding tests to action. It's a bit messy though....

But in the long run it would make sense for you to include the funtionality. I can't think of any good argument why your Product Management Team would omit this ;-)

Is any fixes for this feature. It will help a lot if we can add assignee on Test Cycle.

Please add the ability to filter by assignee.  When a large number of Testers are working from the same Test Cycle, it is impossible to tell how many tests each person has left in a given test cycle.  It seems like it would be an easy fix. A simple join on the two tables so that the one data element can be displayed.

Please implement this feature. Seems like a very basic core concept of test management software, can't believe you guys don't have it.
