How can we export a Tempo Timesheet into an Excel spreadsheet with just the following columns: Full Name, Account Name, Version Name, Issue Type, Issue Summary, Issue Key, Work Description, and Billed hours.

Hi Eric,

you can export a timesheet to Excel when in the Report or List view. You can then pivot the table to show only the columns you are interested in. Please take a look at http://blog.tempoplugin.com/2012/pivoting-tempo-and-jira-reports-using-excel/ for more information.

Kind regards,

Susanne

You can export nearly any data from JIRA to Excel using the Better Excel Plugin. It includes all built-in custom fields, Tempo fields, Tempo worklogs, plus JIRA Agile fields, JIRA Service Desk fields, etc.

You can make a powerful Excel template and then render that into a final spreadsheet, any time later with a single click! No further tuning is necessary, just a single click.

(When I write render, it means that the special placeholders you enter to the Excel cells will be filled up with the most current data at the export time.)

See the integration page for details on Tempo or the full add-on manual here.

Hi Ferenc,

I am just trying to implement what you said and came across this thread. I have to say Better Excel Plugin is an extremely powerful tool. But there is one dealbreaker in it and its tempo integration. Let me explain:

Our use case is that you are on the monthly report of a project. You send a monthly report with the worklogs to your customers. They have to be nicely formatted and CI-branded, of course. So, I would love to be able to use a Better Excel Plugin for that.

But the exported excel should only contain tempo timelogs from the month I am viewing at the moment. That is the month I am currently billing. But the existing tempo integration returns all worklogs (even the ones from the month before) of the tasks that were touched in the current month.

This way, the excel export is quite useless to us, as sad as it is. All that would be necessary to fix it would be that the currently viewed timeframe of Tempo is passed into the excels context.

Hi Steffen,

Due to your description I'd suggest having a look at xPort - Custom Worklog Export for JIRA.

In addition to your desired support of timeframes, it offers some interesting additional functions, i. e. (ci-branded) templating right within JIRA.

If you encounter any questions during evaluation or even in advance, feel free to contact atlassian-support(at)decadis(dot)de.

Cheers,
Thorsten
