How to use groovy script runner

Brock March 27, 2014

I'm part of the QA team where I work and I'm also setup as an Admin in JIRA. I came across groovy script runner and I thought it would be helpful for a number of reasons. However, after uploading the addon, I can't seem to find where to begin. I've looked under the Administration tab in JIRA, but it's not there. Is there something else I should've downloaded?

Can you go to Admin -> Script Console? If you don't see that then it hasn't installed properly.

I don't see Script Console under Admin. I uploaded the plugin in JIRA. What other step(s) did I miss?

hi Brock,

If the plugin is installed in your JIRA isntance and you have admin rights then you can see script console in the admin summary when you click on administration link on top right

Brock March 30, 2014

It's showing that it's installed. Is there another step after uploading the plugin?

No other steps. Can you type "gg" , then enter Script Console in to the dialog that appears?

Brock March 30, 2014

That works. It was under Add Ons in the Admin section

That works. I appear to have found it. It was under Add Ons in the Admin menu. Thank you all!

You can start with using it in workflows ....using script runner you can add new conditions, validations and post functions.....also if you have admin rights then just press g+g (gg twice) and then access built-in scripts of the script runner...but i would suggest to start with exploring workflow options
