Large Kanban Boards?

Charlie Hubbard February 25, 2014

I have a Kanban process that has currently 6 stages, but I need to add 3-4 more. However, the horizontal space is a bit of an issue. Currently I have 3 groups working on the board within a portion of the board. The first group uses the first 3 stages to work, and the 2nd group picks up after that moves their issue to the last stage and they uses the next 4, so on and so on. What can I do to collapse stages that don't exactly apply to certain members? I think this is mostly a simple feature that would allow someone to collapse stages that don't apply to them. I don't want to create separate projects for each group and move issues between them. That is too cumbersome. Anything I can do to help with this issue?

You can create multiple rapid boards, one for each group. Each board will have columns configured that maps to worksflow steps which are of interest to the group using that board. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH059/Configuring+Columnsfor more details on creating columns and mapping it to workflow statuses.

Will this help?
