How can I exclude Zephyr test issues from "Issues: 30 Day Summary" in Jira?

Lars February 16, 2014

Hi community,

I'm administering a Jira v5.2.6 project as a Scrum Master in our team. The team members begin to question whether it's possible to exclude Zephyr test issues from the 30 day summary diagram.

They argue, that it is really frustrating to see the "red curve" rise while it's "only" test cases that were added. It makes interpreting the diagram quite hard or even impossible.

Is there a way to exclude specific issue types (particularily Zephyr test issues)?

Thanks in advance for any comment!

Best regards,
Lars

Hi Lars,

There is currently not a way to exclude Zephyr testcases from other issues on the 30-day summary. In the other-hand, you always have the option to separate these issues into two different projects. One project with only the Zephyr tests and the other with the remaining Jira issue types.

Kind Regards,

Edgar

Hello,

Is there any updates on this topic?

We want to exclude tests from this 30 day summary too.

Another option could be if Zephyr implemets a special status for test cases so that they will be ignored by JIRA's workflow. As an example of this - at least ability to set test case issue status to Resolved/Closed - would suit our needs as well.

Hi Lars,

Is it possible you can supply a screen shot or path as to which chart it is you are talking about?

Kind Regards,

Emily

Hi Emily,

sorry for the delay! :-)

I was referring to the following overview chart on the overview "landing page" of a JIRA project:

The increase in issues from below 50 to more than 60 is due to adding Zephyr test cases. The team rather does not want to have them included, since, in their oppinion, it reduces the significance of the diagram in terms of bugs etc.

Thanks and best regards,

Lars
