Auto assigning "I-ll test this" issues to me (current users)

Karl Roth February 11, 2014

In Development workflow, I click the "I'll test this" button.

=> The issue moves from "Waiting for QA" to "In QA Review". In my kanban board it also moves from "Ready to Test" to "In Test". But I'd like the assignee to change to "me" (current user) automatically.

How would I manage that?

Hi Karl,

you can achieve this by editing the Workflow. Basically, you need to execute these steps:

  1. Click in "Edit" to enter the Edit mode for the workflow, creating a draft.
  2. Click in the transition that you want to customize the actions.
  3. Go to the third tab "Post Functions".
  4. Click in the "Add post function" link.
  5. Select the option "Assign to Current User", and press "Add".
  6. Confirm the workflow change by clicking in the "Publish Draft" button. If you are not 100% confident, I suggest that you create a backup copy of the workflow.

There is a lot of functions you can add to your workflows by following the exact same steps, but selecting a different option on step #5. Have fun!

Thanks, Martim. I'm fairly new to this wonderful Atlassian world.

Actually I had managed steps 1 - 5 myself, just to find out it did not work.

But your number 6., "Publish Draft", did the trick.

Cheers!
