There is a requirement from client that test cases should go through series of approvals once the execution is completd. Is there a way this can be achieved?
Hi Sanket,
It is important to understand that the issue type Test is a JIRA issue type. Keeping this in mind you can create your own workflow from scratch, or import them from the Atlassian Marketplace. You can associate each workflow to a particular project a specific issue type by using a workflow scheme.
In order to create a new workflow, as a JIRA Admin, navigate to the following location:
Administration>Issues>Workflows
Once there click on the "+ Add Workflow" button, and associate to the issue type or project.
Once there you can modify the workflow to you best convinience by navigating to the workflow page as shown above. Once there click on "Edit" for that workflow. Once all the edits are completed click on publish.
I've outline the general locations to configure your workflow, you can also take a look at the following link which gives further details on the process of creating new statusus and transitions when configuring your workflow.

Note the information above is for JIRA 6.1, it might not work the same if you have a version of JIRA below 6.1. So I've included a link where you can find all the documentation for all the previous versions of JIRA. Once you find the correct document, search for the section on "Workflows".
