Linux on non-localhost

J January 15, 2014

Hello,

I've got bamboo running on a command-line-only CentOS server and am prompted with the setup screen when I access it via the SSH command:

lynx localhost:8085

However, I cannot access it via a browser from another machine when visiting: http://ip.ip.ip.ip:8085

How can I open up the install to allow access from non-localhost so I can continue the setup?

Thanks

If you can get to it on localhost but not externally, then you need to check

That the ip address is correct on your network - can you reach the machine with basic pings? Is it definitely on your network with that address?

That CentOS is configured to allow access on that port. Check the firewall and SELinux settings. From memory, CentOS off-the-shelf is setup to be put on the internet as a standard web-server, which means locking down all ports except 80 and 443
