Hello,
We have started our JIRA experience a couple of months ago and our dev server now became prod. We need to setup a test server so we can check all software updates / patches first as well as some of our own changes prior to make them in production.
Could someone please suggest ways of achieving this?
Products (JIRA Service Desk, Insight, nfeed,Exocet, Extension) and DB is MSSQL.
Thanks.

Thanks Gabrielle, thanks Pilar.
Seems pretty easy and straight forward. If I got you both right, after the clone and DB copy have proven to work properly I should go for the "non production" license I can generate on the Attlasian website and from there both environments live their own life?
Thanks.
J-P.
yes, that's the idea.

Contact your administrators to create a clone of the Virtual machine and a new Database schema (with data copied from production).
Point your cloned Virtual machine to the new database.

I don't think there will be a different setup for a test project. It's the same setup as you did with your production instance. You will have to put an Evaluation License though
