how to change the default reporter

Michael Roberts August 27, 2015

In a JIRA template, how can I change the default reporter? A reporter is required in the template, but I don't want to get all the emails as the default reporter.

  • To add on what Nic suggested, you can try to "unwatch" the issue to stop receiving updates to the tickets. Note that if the Notification Scheme of that project has "Reporter" to a certain event, you will still receive emails though.

JIRA doesn't have templates, so I'm not sure what you mean there. So, at a guess, I think you mean that when you create an issue, the reporter defaults to you, and you can't change it.  If that is right, then you need to do two things - make sure you have "change reporter" permission, and then make sure it is on the "create issue" screen.  You'll then be able to set someone else as the reporter when you create the issue.
