Are plugin licenses perpetual-use for a specific version?

If I never upgrade, do I have to renew my plugin licenses every year?

According our "Add-on pricing FAQ" that you can find in any add-ons you browse in the marketplace:

  • How does add-on pricing work?

Just like your Atlassian host application, there are two pricing models for add-ons. Pick the model that matches your Atlassian product, and the same rules apply:

    Server pricing

    • Products and add-ons are hosted on your servers.
    • Licenses last forever and include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).
    • You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price.
    • You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

So, I believe it's a yes.

Unless you want support for this plugins/apps you don't have to pay twice.

Hope this helps!

It depends on the plugin. For the ones sold through the atlassian marketplace - see Andre's answer. For the non-marketplace it depends on the vendor.

In either case though you'd probably not have support.

Hi Anthony,

No, but you will not have support and will not be able to upgrade.
