Joomla and Wordpress migration to Confluence

I have to migrate a Joomla and a Wordpress website into Confluence.

Any idea for doig this???

Question is, what you wish to conserve: The main advantage (to me )of a wiki is the crosslinking and the tagging of content. Those two are not eaßy to carry over. Also, the names of the wikipages must be unique, something not needed with wordpress and joomla. Easiestbway: export all contents and merge it into a big wordfile, the do a wordfile import. Tags and links will break, however. Second approach, maybe you can find a cms2mediawiki export, them use the UWC to import the mediawikipages Third approach: domyour own With confluence 3, it was possible to write the files via webdav quite easily. With the new xmlbased storageformat, you need to check that. My approach would be: create an exporter, which writes the cmstitles comtent into a list of "contenttitles" and tags for mapping. Go through the list and add a second column with Wkipermittable names OR an IGNORE marker. In a second run, let the exporter write all cmsdocs, which dont have the IGNOREmarker, into textfiles, renaming the pages and converting interpage links based on the list in the process. Simple import: push the textfiles (maybe structured in folders for hierarchy) via webdav onto the system Better: use the commandline interface to create pages and tagg them correctly via a script Last but not least: donate your script to the commnity public :D

You can uses WebDAV in Confluence, if you can get Joomla or Wordpress to export the pages you can easily upload them to Confluence via WebDAV.

Once you've imported to Confluence and miss the theming capabilities, check out Scroll Viewport. It provides for simple content theming for Confluence (no need to deal with overly complex Confluence theming infrastructure).
