Setting Global Permissions on Confluence

Amy July 30, 2015

Hi there

I have set the global permissions for a group to include admin permissions, however this is not being applied to existing spaces. Or more to the point, it worked for a while and then reverted the user permissions in the spaces, but not in the global permissions.

Is there a way to ensure that the user retains their admin permissions, and that those permissions be applied to all existing spaces?

Regards

Amy

Hi Amy,

At this moment I do not know possibilities to bulk change Confluence permission, but watch this addon at Marketplace:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/hu.metainf.plugin.confluence.ultimate-permission-manager

Now this addon can "only" show the effective permission on Confluence on one summarized page, but manage permission is among of the "coming soon features".

Dear Paula

I am looking for a way to change permissions on all our spaces at once (we have over 30). Is this possible?

Hi Amy,

If you have administrator permisssion on Confluence, you can do the following to access spaces you don't have access to:

  1. Choose the cog icon, then choose General Configuration under Confluence Administration
  2. Choose Space Permissions under Users & Security in the sidebar
  3. Locate the space in the Individual Spaces list and choose Manage Permissions

Thanks and regards,
